This qualification covers workers who provide a range of services and interventions to clients, and/or who implement community education and interventions. Work may take place in a range of contexts such as community-based organisations, residential rehabilitation services and outreach services where workers may have supervisory responsibilities.
Workers apply knowledge and skills gained through qualifications and/or previous experience to provide training and support to people living with mental health issues, to empower clients to achieve self-reliance and reach their goals.
Workers at this level are required to have an understanding of indigenous culture and history and to work with local communities in the provision of services. This course combines theory along with practical experience with a compulsory work placement component.
